Singapore’s First Two-Time Plus Size Beauty Queen is Launching Singapore’s First International Plus Size Beauty Pageant – Miss Top of the World Plus Size 2017
Singapore's Fiona Tan, crowned Miss Top of the World Plus Size (Miss TOTW PS) 2016 in Latvia, is launching the first plus size pageant in Singapore this year
With Asian delegates from Thailand, Singapore and the Philippines, Miss TOTW PS 2017 aims to promote positive body confidence, challenge Asian size stereotypes and empower women everywhere of all shapes and sizes.
SINGAPORE, 31 October 2017 – For the first time ever, international plus size pageant Miss Top of the World Plus Size (Miss TOTW PS) will be held in Singapore, marking the launch of the republic’s first plus size beauty pageant. Helming the pageant is Singapore’s first plus size beauty queen Fiona Tan, who was crowned both Miss Top of the World Plus Size 2016 and Miss Plus Size of the World 2016, emerging as the first and only Asian and Singaporean woman to win two global beauty pageants.
This year, and for the 2nd year running, Miss TOTW PS will see 15 delegates representing countries from around the world, hailing from India, Ukraine, Thailand, Myanmar and Belarus, to name a few. This year’s pageant looks set to be a dazzling affair once more as all contestants are distinguished and inspiring personalities in their own rights. Miss Singapore this year is Priscilla Boh, Singapore’s first plus size model and Miss Netherlands is a disability rights activist, having lost feeling in both her legs previously due to transverse myelitis.
Contestants will arrive in Singapore to compete for the Miss TOTW PS crown over 6 days from 8 to 13 November 2017, culminating in a spectacular grand finale night on 12 November 2017. Contestants will not be assessed by conventional beauty standards but rather by their poise, intelligence and talents, through a series of photo shoots, cultural events and personal profile interviews. Sponsors include Grand Mercure Singapore Roxy, HapGlobal, Hygeia TCM Wellness and Ashleigh Ivory.
Held annually to inspire and empower women across the world of all shapes and sizes, the pageant aims to provide a platform for beautiful, intelligent and talented ladies who have braved the odds of body shaming and have the courage to celebrate their bodies. With several Asian representatives in the competition, Miss TOTW PS also seeks to challenge typical Asian stereotypes of beauty and celebrate women’s curves while promoting health and fitness.

As an Asian minority in last year’s competition, Fiona Tan, reigning Miss TOTW PS 2016 and director of the Singapore pageant this year stood out from the line-up of full-figured beauty queens with her charisma and effectively debunked the notion that Asians must be slim and petite to be considered beautiful, sending local and international media into a frenzy.
“Bringing Miss TOTW PS into Singapore was a dream come true for me,” said Fiona. “With the competition this year, I hope to inspire Asian women of all shapes and sizes to celebrate their bodies, while combating body image issues, eating disorders and body dysmorphia. We are here to defy societal norms and overcome limiting beliefs about what constitutes beauty.”

Miss/ Mrs Top of the World (Miss TOTW) is an international beauty pageant based in Latvia, in its 7th year running and in its 2nd year running for the same title in Plus Size (Miss TOTW PS), launched in 2010 by founder Kristine Lindenblate. Mrs. Asia International Pageant, is a platform for married and
senior ladies to showcase their beauty, talents and success in a more
contemporary and glamorous approach. While beauty is the key element,
contestants are also urged to voice their opinions about marriage and current
events.
Three gorgeous Filipinas will compete for the coveted titles along with the other candidates from Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam and Philippines.

Ms. Vian Crabajale Yano
Forty-six year old businesswoman based in Japan, a native of
Adlay, Surigao Del Sur. She was officially handpicked by local franchise holder
of the pageant Mr. Ovette Ricalde to compete in the prestigious international
beauty pageant for married women.
Vivian, a mother of a lovely seventeen year old girl named Akie
is a true blue entrepreneur; she heads the VCY Trading, a company that offers
financing and lending, real property, trucking and skin care services. “I’ve
been managing this company for quite sometimes. My late Japanese husband has
thought me a lot on how to run a business,: she adds. Vivian is also involved
in various civic projects and proof of this is her being active in
organizations like the Inner Wheel Club whose main objective is to give
services to public, promote friendship and international understanding.
Ms. Rizalina Del
Rosario-Asa
Housewife and a
business woman based in Portland, Oregon USA. Riza is not just another ordinary
plain housewife living in the United States of America. Her hard working
attitude and determination touched other lives set as bench mark to many
Filipinas here and in abroad. Her resilient attitude towards about everything
is her secret to a very successful life.
She finished her
elementary education at the Tampok Elementary School and her high school at
Hagonoy Institute with flying colors. She took up B.S. in Custom Administartion
at the Philippine Marinetime Institute in college.
Ms. Maria Engracia de
Villar-Maniago
Maria is a teacher at Casa Kalayaan International School. She
was crowned as Woman of Substance at
last year's Mrs. Globe Philippines Pageant and was also awarded the Solane
Mother of the Year award.
Last year three Filipinas bagged the major crowns. Ms. Jennifer Helen Weigel from Cebu won the Classic Mrs. Asia International Metropolitan 2015 crown. Ms. Jen also awarded Best in Traditional Costume - wearing a gown designed by Philip Tampos, a fellow cebuano. Ms. Winlove McLarren crowned Mrs. Asia International Metropolitan 2015 and Ms. Vina Lelim Nacionales declared Classic Mrs. Asia International Goodwill 2015 and she also received the Mrs. Charity Queen, Mrs. Popularity and she was among the top 3 Best in Talent.
Last 2014 Joyce Penas Pilarsky declared Classic Mrs. Asia Internal Global 2014, Jessie Maloles - 1st Runner-Up in Mrs. Asia Internal category while Lady Lourdes Datin proclaimed 1st Runner-up in Classic Category.

Mrs. Vina Lelim Nacionales is Philippines representative to the Mrs. Asia Classic International 2015. She is 67 years old and a mother of two. She underwent thorough training for the international pageant, which will be held in Malaysia this June 2015.
According to the organizer, Mrs. Asia International Pageant is the extravaganza platform for married and senior ladies to showcase their beauty, talents and success in a more contemporary and glamorous approach. While beauty is the key element, contestants are also urged to voice their opinions about marriage and current events.
About Mrs. Vina Lelim Nacionales
She is a successful entrepreneur, philanthropist and CEO of Nacionales & Associates, Inc., which she found in 1989. She firmly believes in adhering to the degree of ethics in all aspects of life including business. She is an Ilongga who earned Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Iloilo. During her immigration to the United States she faced many difficulties and challenges, but her motivation and courage to support her family and relatives back in the Philippines made her becoming one of the most powerful and inspiring women.
Nevertheless, her success did not come easily. When she first starter her life in the United States, she struggled with cultural shock and language barriers and hardly could make a living. Despite the fact, taking long bus journeys to work, hardly earning below the minimum wage for long hours of shifts just to make ends needs; she kept going with determination to make a difference in her and the life of her loved ones. She decided to go to school and took nursing class as a Certified Nurse and Home Health Nurse. Her life change when she became a full time private nurse and personal assistant to the wife of the Mayor of Beverly Hills. She finally was on tract and her hard work started to pay off. This was a breaking point in her life when she started to become a socialite of Beverly Hills. Slowly establishing herself and becoming more confident with the society. Vina decided to open up her first Health Care business in Los Angeles, California in which she decided to dedicate her life to healthcare profession.
In her booming years in business she decided to invest in real estate. With her expertise she was able to acquire several rental properties including her residence in Beverly Hills and a vacation home in Las Vegas.

Vina is hardworking, humble energetic and very caring person. President and CEO of her company, she brings with her in the business a wealth of experience in the healthcare profession. She is involved in fund-raising events and support noble projects of various organizations, feed the school children is her pet project when she is in the Philippines and loves to help the parish church in her hometown. Vina’s ultimate plan is to continue serving and helping the elderly community and the residents of her facility “Beverly Hills Home Care”.
She has two successful children Harry and Riza. Harry is a Director of Nursing in a large hospital married to Violeta Dasal a registered nurse with three gorgeous smart daughters Callin, Samantha and cute Rylee Paige. Risa is married to Michael Stanley Ruia MDS Nurse in skilled facility and Risa as Nurse Supervisor in a Rehab Health Care and Skilled Nursing Facility. They have two kids handsome Michael Justin (MJ) and Beautiful Alaiza. The families are in healthcare profession and enjoy their nursing careers.
She is devoted and thankful to GOD who gave her a long and healthy life and a great favor to succeed in the business world.
All married women – young wives, mothers and even grandmothers from Asia Countries – are eligible to participate.
