The Los Angeles Fashion Week (LAFW) Design Competition hosted by Lola Alexander events took place last October 17th in Los Angeles, California.  It is a platform for creative minds and emerging designers.  It was created to give exposure, visibility, support, and a voice to emerging talent from around the world. Some of fashion industry insiders have been asked to select the 12 finalists.

A few months prior to the Los Angeles Fashion Week Design Competition, Joyce visited the Philippine National Museum and she was immediately inspired from the beautiful stuff displayed at the museum.

"Being one of the finalists in an international design competition like this, i have the chance to showcase the beautiful heritage of my country. So I decided to visit the Philippine National Museum and get my inspirations from there. I'm really inspired and we should be thankful to our ancestors who contributed a lot in our textile industry.
